As published in the Financial Times, Les Echos and other business resources, National Chairman John Wright of the Federation of Small Businesses presented CLYDEUNION Pumps with the Award for Implantation at the Franco British Business Awards in December 2009.
The Award for Implantation is an award relating to the 'coming together' of our UK and French facilities and is viewed as being a fair reflection of how the ‘Clyde’ way of implanting business in another country was seen from the Franco British Chamber of Commerce and Industry's perspective. Attached are photos from the Franco British Business Awards ceremony which was held in Paris at Place de la Concorde (in the Automobile Club de France) on December 3rd 2009. Jim McColl, Michel Fouche and Clare - Frances Bradshaw attended the awards ceremony to represent CLYDEUNION Pumps. The French Minister of State for foreign trade (Anne-Marie Idrac) was in attendance and also present were the British Ambassador to France and the French Ambassador to the UK.
Our French facility, located in Annecy has origins that date back to 1919. Annecy has always had an excellent product development organization and a full range of API standard and nuclear centrifugal pumps. Recently the facility designed and tested the first emergency feed water system pumps for Areva’s initial EPR nuclear reactor. In addition, CLYDEUNION Pumps Annecy, installed OMV Schwechat Refinery’s thermal gasoil unit, the first system to be completed globally.
The Annecy urban area offers a very "attractive" environment for businesses. It is a highly efficient economic centre - the leading one in the Haute-Savoie region, combining industrial and service businesses that are both traditional and innovative, and large and small in size. This accolade is another triumph for CLYDEUNION Pumps and shows our commitment to the highest standards of international business and the respect that our company has for new partners and nations.
