RO Desalination Project Successes

The RO desalination market continues to grow since the formation of CLYDEUNION Pumps and a key project win for Via Maris was sealed this month. The order reflects the benefits of our expanded product portfolio and multi-facilities operation. This Israeli contract was negotiated and secured by Michael Homer who works out of Penistone office, supported by Dale Robertson & Graeme Lindsay who operate in Cathcart.

The order is for a vertical bowl fabricated Super Duplex sea water intake pump, only previously sold as a CW pump on power plants, and manufactured at Cathcart. The order also includes 6 VHK in-line ERD Boosters manufactured in the Burlington facility. In addition Daniel Feng, from our Beijing office, secured a significant order for nine large engineered Uniglides to be manufactured in Cathcart for a Water Supply project.

This comes at a time when our new HPRO "radially split diffuser" pump for RO desalination high pressure membrane feed applications completes our product range. The latest endurance testing at full speed verified that the pump performance is exceeding our expectations. Evaluation of additional configurations will continue in the R&D Laboratory over the coming months aimed at further improvements in the engineered product lines competitive advantages..
